Assam Congress leaders have started a protest against the raise of fuel price. They took the LPG cylinders on their head during the protest. The increase of fuel price has become a major issue for the the public.
The protest took place in Barpeta district of lower Assam on Tuesday. In the protest Gaurav Gogoi who is congress MP, MLA Rockybul Hussain took the leadership.
They all were very angry to the BJP government, on the thand they raised slogans as well against the ruling party. Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora and chairman of the Congress campaign committee Pradyut Bordoloi led the agitation in Gohpur area.
Ripun Bora said that “As if the economic disparities created by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal government were not enough, people now have to incur an additional burden for meeting the spike in oil prices,”
Along with this another protest took place in Gelekey petrol pump at Nazira in Sivasagar on the same issue by Debabrata Saikia who is the Congress Legislature Party Leader.
He said that that was just the beginning of the movement and this blatant display of apathy by the BJP government will be short-lived.
