Serum Institute's Vaccine Trial Goes Wrong

The Serum Institute Have been working on the vaccine trail, and the third phase trail was going on but somehow the trial went woong and a volunteer is in a serious condition after being administered the under-trial vaccine.

The man belongs from Chennai, he was a part of the vaccine trail in Serum Institute. Right now the situation for the man has become very critical. The 40 year old man has said that he need ₹ 5 crore as compensation for this condition f him.

On 1st October the 40 year old man was administered the dose at Chennai’s Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER). On 21 November legal notice was filed and it claims that the man was facing different kind of problems after ten 10 days. He was experiencing severe headaches, Irritation towards light and sound, total behavioural change and later on the condition becomes so worst that he was not able to recognise anyone and also could not talk to anyone.

The Serum Institute is not accepting that it was their fault.They have given a statement to the NDTV saying that there was no relation with the vaccine trail and the health condition of the 40 year old volunteer. The Serum Institution added that the allegations in the notice are malicious and misconceived and the man is manipulating the information, his statements are false.

The legal notice states that earlier the vaccine was tested in approximately 500 adults and who were between the age of 18 to 55. The test was done United Kingdom and it was said that the result was safe. All the 500 people were in a good health conditions physically as well as mentally.

Sri Ramachandra Institutions name is also related to this case, but till date they have not given official statement.

Sources says that an ethics committee at the Sri Ramachandra Institute and the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) will take lead on this case. They will start investigation of this case. Serum Institute have not declared what would be there next step on this note/
