Netflix validated that the third season of its contemporary comedy series Sex Education was in the works, as of this year. But the worldwide panic that has ensued after the outbreak of coronavirus has left many fans in serious doubt if the series will continue production, be delayed or cancelled altogether.

Nevertheless, this won’t happen as fans are eager to see the show structuring on Alistair Petrie’s Headmaster Groff suggesting the drama to unfold at Moordale High as the adolescents maintain the influence of their hormones on themselves.

In the season three announcement video, already acquainted faces were seen, which we certainly anticipated as they are the central characters in the show: Otis (Asa Butterfield), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), Jean (Gillian Anderson), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood), Adam (Connor Swindells), Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling), Ola (Patricia Allison), Lily (Tanya Reynolds), and Headmaster Groff (Alistair Petrie).

Sex Education Season 3: New Additions

Season 3 is expected to introduce us to new characters such as Peter Groff, headmaster Groff’s older, more successful brother who will be played by Jason Isaac.

Jemima Kirke, who is known for her role as Jessica Johansson on the series Girls, will be playing the character of the school’s new headmistress ‘Hope’ after Mr Groff was kicked out.

And, Dua Saleh, a gender non-conforming songwriter and recording artist is cast as Cal, a nonbinary student who finds herself in disagreements with Headmistress Hope.

Sex Education Season 3: Production and Release

Even with the pandemic still wreaking havoc, Netflix corroborated in the beginning of this month that production has commenced with a two-minute video message, which reveals a few cast members, including Anderson, Butterfield and Connor Swindell (who plays Adam), who can be seen in discrete video messages as they prepare to start shooting.

Netflix hasn’t publicly announced a release date for Season 3 till now. Earlier seasons were released January, but this season may be possibly delayed owing to the pandemic, as have many other abundantly awaited shows and movies.

Till then, fans can always go back and binge watch the first two seasons of the amazing show!
